This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +2 more states.
• Establish and nurture trusted relationships with Managing Directors, Regional Managers, Care Center Managers, and Team Members.
• Gain insight into operational priorities and safety challenges, offering practical advice and assistance in resolving routine health and safety matters.
• Perform workplace inspections, audits, job-hazard assessments, and exposure assessments.
• Detect unsafe conditions, work methods, and behaviors; propose practical controls, personal protective equipment (PPE), and preventive measures.
• Ensure corrective actions are completed effectively.
• React to workplace incidents and vehicle accidents in accordance with established protocols.
• Collect facts and evidence, assist in investigations, identify contributing factors, and recommend actions to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with Operations, Fleet, HR, and other Gateway partners on cross-functional incidents.
• Provide field information and local support in the aftermath of workplace injuries.
• Assist in implementing approved return-to-work plans and identify obstacles to safe, sustainable returns.
• Enforce safety policies, tools, campaigns, and training programs.
• Facilitate safety discussions and committees, promote safe practices at Care Centers, and assist managers in addressing CSR driving safety and incident prevention.
• Maintain and analyze regional safety data, including incident, hazard, and assessment trends.
• Identify recurring risks and recommend practical enhancements.
• Travel to Gateway Care Centers and other operational locations within the regional territory.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of four years of relevant safety experience, preferably in manufacturing, distribution, or another multi-site operational setting.
• Proficiency in workplace inspections, incident investigations, and job-hazard analysis.
• Familiarity with applicable health and safety requirements and accurate recordkeeping practices.
• Capability to assess hazards and recommend effective controls.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey safety requirements to operational leaders and frontline team members.
• Sound judgment, a composed response to urgent situations, and reliable follow-through.
• Comfort in working independently across a geographically dispersed territory.
• New hires must successfully complete the E-Verify employment verification check.
• Experience in fleet safety, exposure to safety or environmental management systems, and possession of a relevant occupational health and safety certification or designation are considered assets rather than mandatory requirements.
