Health & PE Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver specialized Health and Physical Education course material in an online setting.

• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process.

• Tailor learning experiences and differentiate instruction based on student proficiency.

• Offer both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities.

• Enhance course content utilizing approved online tools and adhering to policies.

• Maintain the grade book to ensure academic integrity among students.

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.

• Inform administrators about concerns regarding student performance and progress.

• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.

• Build positive relationships with families and communicate with students and parents/learning coaches.

• Assist parents and learning coaches with curriculum, instruction, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting.

• Monitor student progress using Stride K12's learning management system.

• Travel approximately once a month and/or 20% of the time for professional development, student testing, and other school-related duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• A valid Health & PE Teaching Certification from the appropriate state Department of Education is required.

• A Bachelor's degree is necessary.

• An active state teaching license is essential.

• Ability to pass the required background check.

• Preference for candidates residing in North Carolina or South Carolina.

• Candidates from Georgia, Tennessee, or Virginia may also be considered.

• Must be able to work independently, typically for over 40 hours per week.

• Capability to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during work hours.

• Experience with the targeted age group is required.

• Experience aiding both adults and children in utilizing technology is essential.

• Background in teaching online and/or in traditional classroom settings is needed.

• Familiarity with online learning platforms is required.

• Ability to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint is necessary.

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.

• Must maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
