This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the development, implementation, construction, and upkeep of the Indian Health Service (IHS) Modernized Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
• Act as a subject matter expert in the Dentrix application, focusing on the construction, design, and configuration of dental workflows that integrate with the IHS Cerner Millennium solution.
• Provide guidance on best practices for configuration and construction in alignment with vendor recommendations and IHS standards.
• Work collaboratively with clinical, business, and dental stakeholders to design and validate dental workflows and configurations that meet dental documentation and billing needs.
• Assess configuration choices for system maintenance, data integrity, interoperability, clinical safety, regulatory compliance, and the effects on reporting.
• Collaborate with IHS clinical and business end users regarding EHR functionality and usability decisions.
• Partner with the Product Management Team, CMIO, and Oracle Health EHR vendor teams on best practices for system building, workflows, and data management.
• Liaise with system integrators and vendor partners on dental product updates and new releases as part of the IHS release management strategy.
• Engage in governance and change control processes, including assessments of change request impacts and design/build work plans.
• Offer system build alternatives to address requests for changes and optimizations in IHS dental products.
• Participate in special projects and initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.
• Advanced knowledge of Dentrix and Oracle Health Cerner Millennium, particularly in billing and patient accounting solutions, including construction, maintenance, and optimization (required).
• Experience in configuring Dentrix and Cerner Millennium modules, especially revenue cycle tools, is preferred.
• Proven capability to oversee complex build tasks, maintain configuration documentation, and collaborate across teams in a fast-paced implementation environment.
• Strong understanding of dental and patient accounting and billing workflows.
• Demonstrated experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
• Completion of at least one full life-cycle Oracle Health (Cerner) EHR implementation that includes a dental solution.
• Proficient in workflow development, design documentation, and validation processes.
• Preferred experience in healthcare, dental, and/or business functional areas.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Experience in system testing, build validation, and end-user training support is preferred.
• Preferred experience across dental, other clinical areas such as emergency and inpatient, and business domains.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant healthcare experience in an EHR build, configuration, or clinical systems analyst role, with direct Dentrix design/build experience.
