Health IT Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Offer development support focused on Power BI for the HHS/NIH Department of Informatics.

• Provide organizational leadership with guidance on information management practices, workflows, requirements gathering, and analytics.

• Assist in the data flow of healthcare analytics utilizing computers and networks.

• Create SQL database queries, SSRS reports, Tableau reports/views and dashboards, and automated email notifications.

• Oversee Tableau Server users, groups, schedules, data sources, and data extracts.

• Convert or transition Tableau dashboards and reports to Power BI.

• Transform business and reporting requirements into Power BI reports, dashboards, data models, and associated SQL logic.

• Reconcile and validate Power BI reports against Tableau reports and source data.

• Troubleshoot, test, validate, and resolve issues related to data, SQL, report logic, calculations, and visualizations.

• Manage assigned deliverables to ensure completion within established timelines.

• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot complex queries.

• Analyze intricate data sources, joins, transformations, and business logic while addressing data issues.

• Maintain system documentation and knowledge management.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements, design validation, and conduct user acceptance testing.

• Address incidents related to supported solutions.

• Interpret and assist users in utilizing generated data.

• Ensure the information provided is consistent, timely, and accurate.

• Monitor quality assurance initiatives.

• Foster working relationships with team members and stakeholders.

• Recommend innovative solutions leveraging reporting and tool-specific expertise.

⛳️ Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain the necessary customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment, and property.

• Experience in handling healthcare or clinical data.

• Background in developing and supporting enterprise-level BI and reporting environments.

• Proficient in Tableau calculations, data models, and dashboard functionality.

• Familiarity with Power BI Service, encompassing workspaces, gateways, data refreshes, deployment, and row-level security (RLS).

• Bachelor’s degree with at least five (5) years of SQL experience and three (3) years of Power BI development experience, or a comparable combination of education and experience.

• Must be able to work in a drug-free environment and comply with the Federal Controlled Substance Act.
