This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina, +1 more state.
• Process and handle requests for patient health information in line with Company and Facility policies and procedures.
• Ensure confidentiality and security of all privileged information.
• Maintain a proficient understanding of Company and facility software.
• Comply with Company and customer facility conduct codes and policies.
• Notify the manager regarding work challenges, site issues, and/or varying workloads.
• Support additional work duties or responsibilities as needed.
• Implement medical privacy regulations to prevent unauthorized disclosure.
• Oversee and protect patient health records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA.
• Create new patient charts using paper records and/or electronic health records.
• Organize medical records in standard order while ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Produce digital images of documents for electronic medical records.
• Address internal and external patient-record requests by accurately retrieving and transmitting records.
• Handle inbound and outbound calls.
• Assist with patient walk-ins.
• Support administrative tasks including faxes, mail, and data entry.
• Achieve site-specific productivity goals.
• Arrange pickups as necessary.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to commute between locations as necessary.
• Willingness to work overtime during peak periods when needed.
• Basic computer skills are essential.
• Comfortable using phones, fax machines, printers, and other general office equipment regularly.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Detail-oriented and focused on quality in relation to accurate and compliant medical records.
• Strong skills in data entry.
• Must be capable of working with minimal supervision while adapting to changing priorities and role requirements.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Capable of responding to requests in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in a healthcare setting is a plus.
• Previous experience in production or metric-based work is advantageous.
• Background in in-person customer service is a bonus.
• Ability to cultivate relationships with on-site clients and customers is a plus.
• Open to providing new ideas, process improvement suggestions, and feedback to internal stakeholders is a bonus.
