This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho, +1 more state.
• Efficiently and accurately handle release-of-information and medical record requests.
• Protect patient privacy while ensuring that releases adhere to authorizations, company policies, facility guidelines, and HIPAA regulations.
• Field calls from patients, insurance providers, and attorneys concerning the status of medical records.
• Document information across various platforms using dual computer monitors.
• Receive and process requests for patient health information.
• Uphold the confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
• Maintain a solid understanding of company and facility software.
• Adhere to company and customer-facility codes of conduct and policies.
• Keep the manager informed about work progress, site challenges, and varying workloads.
• Oversee patient health records to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Prepare charts for new patients and compile documents from both paper and electronic health record sources.
• Organize medical records in a standardized format while ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Generate digital images of documents for electronic medical records.
• Retrieve and properly transmit patient records to both internal and external requesters.
• Handle both inbound and outbound calls.
• Assist with patient walk-ins and perform administrative tasks such as faxes, mail handling, and data entry.
• Meet site-specific productivity targets.
• Schedule pickups and carry out other assigned responsibilities.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must be able to commute between locations as necessary.
• Willingness to work overtime during peak periods when required.
• Basic proficiency in computer usage is essential.
• Comfortable using phones, fax machines, printers, and other standard office equipment.
• Possess professional verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance in medical record information.
• Strong data entry capabilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to changing priorities.
• Capable of organizing and managing multiple tasks effectively.
• Ability to respond to requests in a fast-paced environment.
• This position is not eligible for employment sponsorship.
• Availability to work Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm CST.
