This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Complete roughly 20 weeks of online classroom training.
β’ Engage in approximately 19 weeks of online remote hands-on internship or externship training.
β’ Participate for around 39β44 weeks at 40 hours per week during standard business hours.
β’ Acquire and apply healthcare data and database management skills.
β’ Oversee health information and electronic health record systems.
β’ Utilize EPIC, SQL, Tableau, and Crystal Reports to analyze and report on clinical data.
β’ Comprehend and implement system design, testing, security, privacy, and compliance protocols.
β’ Monitor system alerts and troubleshoot technical issues.
β’ Assist staff with Epic tools, application troubleshooting, user access, workflow modifications, and system updates.
β’ Review communications via email and Jira, and relay system notifications to end users.
β’ Supervise and manage Epic workqueues, assistance requests, provider pools, and the Default Provider In Basket.
β’ Address scanning and indexing concerns and educate end users on redaction procedures.
β’ Update user records, system configurations, user access, fee schedules, preference lists, SmartPhrases, and SmartLists.
β’ Request updates to the destination map and maintain Lot Manager.
β’ Review Weekly Change Notices and refresh training documentation and workflows.
β’ Conduct internal training on Epic functionality and system updates.
β’ Create and amend letter templates.
β’ Evaluate workflows and contribute to process enhancements.
β’ Execute and assess Open Encounter and Duplicate Patient reports.
β’ Ensure the security and integrity of health information.
β’ Prepare for the HIMSS CAHIMS certification examination.
β’ Applicants must reside in California.
β’ Must be at least 18 years old.
β’ Must possess a high school diploma or GED certification.
β’ Must be a U.S. Citizen/National or hold a valid Lawful Permanent Resident Alien status; not open to non-citizens or visa holders.
β’ Proficient in computer use with MS Windows and MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
β’ Capable of typing at a net speed of 40 wpm.
β’ Excellent attention to detail and adherence to strict HIPAA compliance.
β’ Analytical mindset and detail-oriented.
β’ Able to learn in a self-directed, fast-paced, and rapidly changing environment.
β’ Commitment to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during standard business hours.
β’ COVID-19 vaccination or an approved medical/religious exemption required prior to program acceptance.
β’ For on-site internships/externships, proof of host-site immunization requirements may be necessary, including influenza, hepatitis B, and MMR.
β’ Tuberculosis testing and drug screening may be mandated by placement sites.
β’ Prepare for the HIMSS CAHIMS certification examination.
β’ Living stipend of $31,200 distributed over approximately 44 weeks.
β’ Monthly benefits reimbursement of up to $600 (participant cost only).
β’ Internet stipend of $35/month for 44 weeks.
