This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +5 more locations.
β’ Assist in the operations of Gateway Services throughout the Central region.
β’ Establish reliable working relationships with Managing Directors, Regional Managers, Care Center Managers, and Team Members.
β’ Grasp operational priorities and safety challenges, offering practical guidance and help in resolving routine health and safety matters.
β’ Perform workplace inspections, audits, job-hazard assessments, and exposure evaluations.
β’ Detect unsafe conditions, work practices, and behaviors; suggest controls, personal protective equipment (PPE), and preventive measures; and ensure corrective actions are completed.
β’ Address workplace incidents and vehicle accidents, collect facts and evidence, assist in investigations, identify contributing factors, and propose preventive measures.
β’ Work with Operations, Fleet, HR, and other Gateway partners on cross-functional incidents.
β’ Provide on-site information and local support following workplace injuries.
β’ Aid in the implementation of approved return-to-work plans and identify obstacles to safe, sustainable returns.
β’ Enforce safety policies, tools, campaigns, and training programs.
β’ Facilitate safety discussions and committees, promote safe practices in Care Centers, and assist managers in addressing driving safety and incident prevention for CSR.
β’ Maintain safety information for the region and analyze trends in incidents, hazards, and assessments to identify recurring risks and suggest improvements.
β’ Travel to Gateway Care Centers and other operational sites, balancing time between computer-based tasks and field visits.
β’ Occasionally respond outside of regular working hours in the event of serious incidents or urgent field issues.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
β’ A minimum of four years of relevant safety experience, preferably in manufacturing, distribution, or another multi-site operational setting.
β’ Proficient in conducting workplace inspections, incident investigations, and job-hazard analyses.
β’ Familiarity with applicable health and safety requirements and accurate record-keeping practices.
β’ Ability to evaluate hazards and recommend practical safety controls.
β’ Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate safety requirements to operational leaders and frontline Team Members.
β’ Good judgment, a calm demeanor in urgent situations, and reliable follow-through.
β’ Comfortable working independently across a geographically dispersed area.
β’ Experience in fleet safety, exposure to safety or environmental management systems, and possession of a relevant occupational health and safety certification or designation are advantageous but not mandatory.
β’ Willingness and capacity to travel up to 50% of the time.
