Head of Technical Fleet Operations – DACH

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Directly oversee all Regional Fleet Managers across 5 DACH Regions, managing Fleet Managers, Technicians, Damage Detection Experts, and Spare Parts Experts for a fleet of over 4,000 vehicles at more than 40 locations.

• Report directly to the Business Director - DACH.

• Collaborate closely with the Regional Operations Managers.

• Manage the budget for Maintenance, Repair, and Fleet Transfers.

• Ensure repairs are cost-effective and of high quality throughout the market.

• Establish repair strategies tailored to each vehicle based on damage assessments and operational needs.

• Coordinate workshop capacity, scheduling, and spare parts logistics to ensure vehicle availability.

• Develop and enhance both internal and external workshop networks.

• Lead and nurture fleet teams at various stations.

• Monitor KPIs related to repair costs, repair durations, and damage detection accuracy.

• Initiate strategic projects aimed at continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree or apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related technical discipline.

• Over 8 years of experience in fleet management, maintenance/repair, or workshop oversight.

• More than 5 years of experience in direct people management, ideally in a technical and operational setting.

• Strong skills in analytics and budgeting, emphasizing efficiency and quality.

• Assertive leadership abilities along with exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Comfortable in a dynamic, multi-site work environment.

• Willingness to travel to internal stations and external vendors within the market.

• Proficient in maintenance or fleet management software such as SAP or Oracle.

• Working proficiency in both German and English.

• Must be eligible to work in the country of application.

• Minimum age of 18 years.
