Head of Procurement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop the procurement function from the ground up, including processes, policies, and tools.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify needs and negotiate effective, efficient solutions.

• Manage end-to-end sourcing for both direct and indirect spending, from initial intake to negotiation and contracting.

• Achieve savings and enhance terms without hindering business operations.

• Create a vendor due diligence and risk management program.

• Establish a contracting process in coordination with Legal, Finance, and stakeholders.

• Streamline the vendor base and renegotiate or eliminate low-value partnerships.

• Choose and implement scalable procurement tools.

• Collaborate with Engineering and Hardware teams on sourcing components and ensuring supply continuity as production scales.

• Report directly to the CFO.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or vendor management, including hands-on experience in building or rebuilding a function.

• Proven track record of establishing procurement processes that resulted in measurable savings and reduced risks.

• Demonstrated success in negotiations across various spending categories.

• Experience managing the complete contract lifecycle across a large and diverse vendor base.

• Background in selecting and implementing procurement or vendor-management tools.

• Experience in high-growth startups or scaleups is strongly preferred.

• Familiarity with hardware/direct supply chains (electronics, contract manufacturing, logistics) is a significant advantage.

• Exceptional cross-functional communication skills and an ability to collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Legal, and Finance teams.

• A strong professional network providing valuable market insights.

• Experience in building a procurement function from scratch in a fast-paced environment.

• Proven ability to take ownership of outcomes and drive results.

• Commercially minded, self-motivated, and comfortable navigating ambiguity.

• Demonstrated negotiation abilities resulting in measurable savings or improved terms.

• Capability to perform as the sole person in the function.

• Ability to create effective processes while minimizing unnecessary bureaucracy.
