Head of Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the design and implementation of large-scale Google Cloud platforms for clients in the AMER region.

• Lead the platform practice while staying closely connected to implementation efforts.

• Be responsible for reference architectures related to Google Cloud landing zones, enterprise data platforms, MLOps, and Data & AI platforms.

• Develop and enhance reusable platform templates, infrastructure-as-code modules, CI/CD pipelines, data product blueprints, and agent blueprints.

• Establish standards, patterns, guardrails, playbooks, training, and enhance the developer experience for various platform use cases.

• Facilitate the deployment and operation of data products and AI agents at scale through automation, environment management, data contracts, evaluation, testing, observability, security, and governance.

• Design consumption layers that include semantic layers, BI/reporting tools, APIs, and MCP servers.

• Design, build, and deploy agents for incident triage, cost anomaly detection, access requests, policy/configuration drift, and routine operations.

• Incorporate FinOps practices and reporting that correlate platform costs with business value and use-case ROI.

• Act as the primary business owner for platforms in AMER.

• Lead discussions with clients, define project scopes, deliver presentations, and drive revenue and business outcomes related to the platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience in designing and delivering Google Cloud landing zones, enterprise data platforms, MLOps, and Data & AI platforms in a production environment.

• Proven track record of creating reusable templates, blueprints, and golden paths that significantly expedited use case delivery.

• Experience in transitioning multiple data products and/or AI agents from prototype to production at scale, including deployment automation, evaluation, monitoring, and governance.

• Knowledge of semantic layers, BI tools, APIs, and agent-facing interfaces such as the Model Context Protocol (MCP).

• Practical experience or a strong perspective on constructing or deploying agents using Vertex AI / Agent Development Kit.

• Familiarity with implementing FinOps frameworks and observability/telemetry that link cloud spending to business outcomes and use case ROI.

• Solid understanding of cloud security, identity, networking, infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CI/CD, and production operations.

• Experience in leading teams while remaining hands-on enough to influence designs and facilitate delivery.

• Strong presentation skills with a demonstrated history of advising senior client stakeholders.

• Ability to handle ambiguity, prioritize competing demands under tight deadlines, and take full ownership of project outcomes.

• Practical experience within Google Cloud environments.

• Background in high-growth startups, scale-ups, or contemporary enterprise transformation settings.

• Preferred Google Cloud Professional certifications, including Cloud Architect, Data Engineer, or Machine Learning Engineer.
