Head of Operations, Platform Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take charge of platform product operations and ensure launch readiness for B2B2C products, such as KYC/KYB, lending, and unified APIs.

• Oversee product launches to ensure compliance with regulatory and operational standards.

• Develop scalable operations that facilitate swift product launches in regulated markets.

• Propel cross-functional collaboration across Product, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and external partners.

• Manage roadmap milestones, compliance obligations, and infrastructure initiatives.

• Conduct daily operations for US regulated entities, which include licensing upkeep, operational risk management, incident handling, outsourcing, intra-group coordination, audit preparation, and reporting to the Board/ExCo/management.

• Act as the functional operating lead, akin to a functional COO, for US regulated entities.

• Direct operational efforts for US state money transmitter and state lending license initiatives, including NMLS filings.

• Convert regulatory requirements into governance processes, controls, documentation, and evidence for examiners.

• Assist in obtaining licenses through the approval process.

• Serve as the operational liaison to regulators and examiners in collaboration with Legal and Compliance.

• Manage information requests, supervisory inquiries, incident notifications, and follow-up tasks.

• Represent US regulated entities in board meetings, regulatory discussions, and executive conversations.

• Establish core metrics, enhance systems, and refine the operating model for regulated B2B products.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–12 years of relevant experience.

• Background in strategy consulting, including MBB, Big 4 strategy firms, or boutique consulting experience.

• Demonstrated operational execution experience within an organization.

• Experience working within a scaling fintech, bank, or crypto firm in special projects, chief of staff roles, operations strategy, business/product operations, or operations leadership positions.

• Background in managing or contributing to a B2B or B2B2C business in technology sectors.

• Ideally, experience in supporting platform teams, shared infrastructure, APIs, or internal-client/partner models.

• Comfort in collaborating closely with Product and Engineering teams on product mechanics and workflows.

• Familiarity with the US regulated financial environment, including supervision and examination processes.

• Experience in establishing or engaging with compliance programs, particularly KYC/KYB onboarding initiatives.

• Proven ability to manage complex cross-functional programs without formal authority.

• Strong governance and control standards paired with practical process judgment.

• Excellent communication skills across regulators, boards, engineers, and business partners.

• Ability to navigate ambiguity and take broad ownership of responsibilities.

• Nice to have: hands-on experience with regulatory change programs.

• Nice to have: exposure to crypto or digital assets, including crypto-native treasury and custody operations.

• Nice to have: prior experience as a founder, General Manager, or early operations hire at a fintech or crypto startup.
