Head of Infrastructure and DevOps

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Oversee the DevOps and Infrastructure teams

• Enhance and sustain the technical infrastructure that supports Smartcat's development, deployment, and operational processes

• Guarantee the availability, scalability, and dependability of both staging and production environments

• Establish and uphold SRE and DevOps best practices

• Implement thorough CI/CD testing and reviews to eliminate production errors related to releases

• Maintain staging infrastructure aiming for a 99.9% availability target

• Develop resilient systems and disaster recovery plans to achieve a product availability of 99.99%

• Streamline CI/CD pipelines and environments to reduce lead time

• Construct and lead a high-performing engineering team across various regions and time zones

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years' experience leading a team in a rapidly growing multinational IT company

• At least 5 years of experience in DevOps and SRE, managing high-RPS distributed products

• A data-driven mindset with the capability to support decisions using concrete metrics

• Strong relationship-building skills with adjacent teams, capability to initiate and adhere to agreements, and act as a liaison between the team and its environment

• Extensive hands-on experience in constructing complex CI/CD pipelines

• Proficient in implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Experience in executing various deployment strategies

• Background in creating secure development environments

• Practical experience in developing and maintaining large-scale cloud applications

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Knowledge of .NET Core, MongoDB, Vue 2/3, Kafka, Elasticsearch, GitLab CI, Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, Jaeger, and Kubernetes
