This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Report directly to the CEO, with a transition to the Global Corporate CFO role once established.
• Establish the central finance function from the ground up.
• Develop business cases and financial models for new initiatives, regions, and capital investments, including feasibility studies, ROI/IRR assessments, payback periods, and sensitivity analyses.
• Collaborate with commercial and operations leaders to rigorously assess project economics prior to capital commitment.
• Take ownership of finance-led forecasting for operational performance driven by crop cycles, linking forecasts to actual results.
• Prepare monthly performance evaluations that connect financial outcomes to operational factors.
• Integrate rigorous business-case analysis into market-entry strategies, including feasibility studies for LATAM and SEA starting in 2027.
• Coordinate weekly cash positioning and 13-week rolling forecasts for each country in collaboration with the Treasurer.
• Manage payments and plan working capital in accordance with crop-cycle seasonality.
• Oversee USD/KES and USD/INR foreign exchange monitoring, timing, and loss mitigation alongside the Treasurer.
• Handle bank relationships, account operations, and joint signatory responsibilities with the Treasurer.
• Implement the approval matrix for regional expenditures and monitor adherence to budgetary compliance.
• Evaluate internal controls through transaction sampling.
• Design back-office systems and workflows.
• Oversee vendor onboarding and ensure contract compliance.
• Lead the rollout of ERPNext across treasury, procurement, and controls modules.
• Supervise local accountants in each country, reviewing their work, establishing standards, and providing coaching for quality and consistency.
• Own the company's accounting policy.
• Possibly exercise authority over payment releases, spending halts, bank signatories, and external representation as defined by leadership.
• A minimum of 5 years in FP&A, controlling, treasury, or performance roles, ideally with experience across these areas.
• Proven ability to create financial and investment models from a blank slate.
• Comfortable being the sole finance professional on-site, with complete responsibility for the work.
• Experience in agribusiness, emerging markets, or project-finance-style economics is highly advantageous.
• Willingness to travel and engage in hands-on fieldwork.
• A professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or CFA is a plus but not mandatory.
• Opportunities for travel and hands-on field involvement.
• Mobility of up to 60–80 days per year, primarily in Kenya and India, with potential travel to LATAM and SEA starting in 2027.
• Travel in accordance with the T&E policy.
