Head of Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Engage in edge cloud computing to address complex, manual, and repetitive tasks for users embracing cloud technologies.

• Develop SaaS applications that leverage multitenancy, scalability, and manage large data volumes/Big Data.

• Enhance and broaden the portfolio that supports over 200 cloud applications.

• Acquire knowledge and contribute to the design, development, and launch of products from initial concept to high customer usage.

• Direct and oversee all facets of the engineering department.

• Collaborate directly with development, support, implementation, internal teams, external vendors, and clients.

• Partner closely with the CEO/CTO as a technology and business authority.

• Manage multiple engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints.

• Lead engineers and offer guidance on technical matters.

• Work alongside product, design, and customer support teams.

• Uphold coding standards, best practices, and security protocols.

• Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise engineers and support personnel.

• Assess and recommend technologies and methodologies.

• Establish and maintain vendor and partner relationships.

• Supervise the complete software development lifecycle for developers and testers in an agile setting.

• Guide staff in effective client implementations, ensuring secure and defect-free technical outputs.

• Define career paths, training programs, performance evaluations, corrective actions, and salary reviews.

• Develop departmental standards and procedures.

• Suggest implementation strategies for upgraded products.

• Evaluate and report on progress and outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in Java.

• Proficiency with Bootstrap and jQuery.

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud platforms.

• Experience in modular software development.

• Knowledge of multi-tenant architecture and highly scalable systems.

• A minimum of 8–10 years of experience demonstrating the required engineering skills and competencies.

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (BSc/BA).

• Hands-on experience with full-stack architecture.

• Comprehensive understanding of Docker containers, Kubernetes cluster management and orchestration, microservice architectures, and DevOps practices and tools.

• Prior leadership or management experience.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Ability to identify implementation strategies and methodologies based on established guidelines and best practices.

• Quick adaptability to new technologies.

• Must have successfully managed at least two end-to-end projects.

• Availability to work U.K. shift: 1:30 PM IST–10:30 PM IST.
