Head of Data Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Lead the Data Operations division within Product Development, which includes Mapping, Labeling, Triage, and future operational teams.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define, standardize, and enhance data ontologies, operator policies, and data specifications.

• Create efficient workflows and policies to ensure the delivery of high volumes of quality labels, maps, and triage annotations.

• Supervise strategic vendor relationships and partner organizations responsible for ground truth labeling, map generation, and operational tasks.

• Manage vendor contract negotiations, budgets, training, and adherence to policies.

• Work alongside tooling and infrastructure teams to establish requirements for next-generation tooling and automation.

• Leverage data analytics to pinpoint continuous improvement opportunities in workflows, throughput, and quality control.

• Partner with Product, Autonomy, and Systems Engineering teams to facilitate the development, validation, and deployment of the autonomous system.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in Operations Management or related fields, with a proven history of leading data-centric organizations.

• Significant leadership experience in guiding multi-disciplinary teams responsible for data annotation, mapping operations, triage, or similar functions.

• Proven expertise in managing globally distributed workforce vendors and developing robust BPO strategies.

• Demonstrated capability to design, implement, and scale complex, heavily data-driven operational workflows.

• Strong analytical skills, including experience in conceptualizing, building, and reporting organizational-level business metrics.

• Previous experience in an Autonomous Vehicle (AV) or Robotics company is highly preferred, but not mandatory.

• In-depth functional understanding of ML training for Perception models, HD mapping concepts, data infrastructure, and visualization tools.

• This position may require verification of residence, U.S. person status, and/or citizenship status due to national security and export control regulations.

• The candidate may need to meet U.S. export licensing requirements.
