This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Take ownership of the consumer deposit portfolio's economics across various products and segments, focusing on cost of funds, strategic mix, deposit growth, retention, and margin.
• Define the multiyear strategy for deposit pricing and management.
• Manage the rate strategy for standard pricing, promotional offers, and exception pricing.
• Deliver rate recommendations to pricing governance forums and executive stakeholders.
• Oversee the consumer deposit portfolio's P&L, including interest expenses, net interest income, contributions from products and segments, and performance relative to plans.
• Set up interest expense attribution and ensure reconciliation with Finance and Treasury.
• Manage deposit balance and rate forecasts, retention projections, assumptions, and scenario analyses.
• Develop a forecasting capability that is controlled by the function.
• Lead insights and analytics related to price elasticity, behavioral segmentation, competitive market insights, and portfolio reporting.
• Direct data science and modeling efforts for deposit behavior, rate sensitivity, retention, and balance migration.
• Create portfolio performance frameworks that monitor cost of funds, acquisition, augmentation, and attrition.
• Build and guide the function encompassing pricing, P&L management, forecasting, and insights and analytics.
• Establish strong accountability with Finance, Treasury, and enterprise data teams.
• Manage talent effectively, which includes hiring, performance evaluations, development, disciplinary actions, succession planning, and compliance.
• Undertake special projects and additional responsibilities as needed.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
• Bachelor's Degree (4 years or equivalent), or relevant work experience.
• 12+ years of experience in deposit pricing, treasury, balance sheet management, or a related finance field.
• Proven leadership in pricing, P&L management, forecasting, and analytical tasks for a consumer deposit portfolio.
• Strong understanding of deposit economics, including cost of funds and net interest income.
• Experience managing a portfolio P&L, including interest expenses, net interest income, contributions from products and segments, and variance to plans.
• Ability to oversee balance and rate forecasts, scenario construction, and supporting analysis.
• Direction of analytical work, encompassing price elasticity, behavioral segmentation, modeling, and performance analysis.
• Proficient in deposit pricing across various products and segments.
• Experience presenting pricing and forecasting recommendations to executive teams and governance forums.
• Proven experience in building and leading a multidisciplinary function that covers pricing, forecasting, and analytics.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Capacity to adhere to regulatory and compliance policies and standards.
• Advanced degree in finance, economics, statistics, or a related quantitative field is preferred.
• Experience in banking or financial services is preferred.
• Background in establishing deposit portfolio management, P&L, or analytical functions is preferred.
• Familiarity with interest expense attribution or funds transfer pricing logic is preferred.
• Knowledge of deposit behavioral modeling and price elasticity is preferred.
