Head of Commercial Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Lead and nurture Finance Business Partners, Bid Modellers, and senior finance professionals, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment.

• Provide strategic guidance and challenge on significant bids, rebids, contract renewals, and commercial opportunities.

• Enhance management reporting, month-end procedures, and group consolidation activities.

• Collaborate with Commercial, Contracts, BI, and Data teams to translate commercial drivers into financial performance and insights.

• Identify avenues to improve operational efficiency, minimize costs, and increase value across the Group.

• Oversee budget, forecasting, and cash flow reporting processes, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely financial information.

• Present commercial and financial performance, associated risks, and opportunities to stakeholders at the Board level.

• Contribute to the strategic direction and ongoing enhancement of the Finance function as a member of the Finance Leadership Team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with substantial post-qualification experience.

• Demonstrated experience in a senior commercial finance leadership position within a complex, multi-entity setting.

• Strong foundation in bid finance, commercial modeling, and business partnering.

• Exceptional leadership abilities, with a proven track record in developing and motivating high-performing teams.

• Robust financial modeling, analytical, and commercial decision-making skills.

• Experience in influencing and presenting to senior and Board-level stakeholders.

• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration capabilities.

• Proven ability in driving process improvements, automation, and financial efficiencies.

• Experience with government-funded contracts, public sector tenders, or outsourced service delivery (desirable).

• Familiarity with Power BI, Power Query, or similar reporting tools (desirable).

• May be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, depending on the role.

• Full-time position of 37 hours per week.
