This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.
• Create and implement a comprehensive Billing strategy across the portfolio aimed at enhancing revenue growth, payment efficiency, and overall profitability.
• Propel enhancements in payment approval rates, subscription conversions, revenue recovery, and processing costs through data-informed experimentation.
• Take ownership of and refine the web subscription billing framework, which encompasses payment orchestration, transaction routing, recurring payments, and retry strategies.
• Manage integrations with Payment Service Providers, payment gateways, and acquiring banks.
• Identify potential new payment partners and oversee technical implementation processes.
• Set up monitoring for Billing KPIs, payment performance, fraud and risk metrics, chargebacks, and processing expenditures.
• Supervise fraud prevention efforts, chargeback management, and payment risk mitigation in accordance with applicable card network regulations.
• Cultivate strategic partnerships with payment partners, handling commercial negotiations, performance assessments, and critical escalations.
• Collaborate with Product CEOs to uncover growth opportunities, align priorities, and convert business needs into Billing initiatives.
• Establish frameworks for prioritization and ownership between central Billing and product-specific teams.
• Ensure the dependability of payment infrastructure through effective monitoring, incident management, and ongoing process enhancements.
• Lead and develop the Billing team, creating scalable processes, clear accountability, and a proactive, results-oriented culture.
• Report directly to the COO and work closely with Product CEOs, technical teams, and external payment partners.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Payments, Billing, Payment Operations, or Payment Product Management, including leadership experience.
• Strong grasp of subscription-based business models, preferably within B2C digital products.
• Hands-on proficiency with payment processing, merchant accounts, payment gateways, acquiring banks, and payment orchestration platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of card payment flows, transaction routing, recurring billing, authorization optimization, and payment recovery.
• Comprehensive understanding of Visa and Mastercard regulations, fraud prevention mechanisms, anti-fraud systems, and chargeback management.
• Proven track record in managing PSP relationships, negotiating commercial terms, and assessing payment partners.
• Strong analytical abilities and experience with large datasets.
• Capability to convert payment metrics into actionable business strategies.
• Experience in collaborating with engineering teams on payment integrations, technical specifications, and infrastructure advancements.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders with competing interests and lead cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong strategic thinking, commercial insight, and aptitude for developing scalable processes and efficient operating models.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, showcasing a high degree of ownership and accountability.
• Proficiency in English at an upper-intermediate level or higher.
• Experience in a multi-product setting, venture builder, or organization with decentralized product ownership is an advantage.
• Familiarity with major payment service providers such as Stripe, Primer, PayPal, or other orchestration platforms is a plus.
• Experience in building or significantly scaling web subscription billing infrastructure is advantageous.
• Background in banking anti-fraud systems, payment risk management, and advanced fraud prevention solutions is beneficial.
• Experience managing payment operations across diverse geographies, currencies, and acquiring markets is a plus.
• Understanding of subscription unit economics, LTV optimization, and payment-related profitability metrics is an added advantage.
• Experience in the mobile applications sector or other high-volume B2C subscription businesses is a plus.
