Hakka Chinese VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry you are interpreting for, particularly in healthcare and medical fields—training will be provided.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or substituting content.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service during interpreting sessions.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and complete interpretation of messages.

• Implement established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training programs.

• Demonstrate a willingness to pursue new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader regularly.

• Adhere to dress code standards for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Hakka Chinese".

• Over 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpreting company is advantageous, though not required.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial but not essential.

• Awareness of legal terminology is a plus.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare sector is a bonus (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
