H2 Commissioning Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Commission, inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, and conduct preventative maintenance on Plug Power products, which include hydrogen storage infrastructure, electrolyzers, and stationary equipment.

• Travel to various customer locations, possibly up to 100% of the time.

• Execute and oversee high-level service repair projects on existing hydrogen infrastructure, including repairs on liquid tanks and vacuum jacket lines.

• Provide training for first responders, customers, and Plug service personnel on troubleshooting, maintenance, and servicing of hydrogen infrastructure.

• Assist in the commissioning and ongoing maintenance and operation of industrial hydrogen infrastructure.

• Interpret electrical wiring schematics and construction drawings/P&IDs.

• Conduct point-to-point functionality testing and pressure testing of piping systems in accordance with ASME standards.

• Test and troubleshoot program issues with the aid of engineering support.

• Inspect process piping systems, including pressure ratings and fittings.

• Document system testing and commissioning results upon project completion.

• Create, monitor, and finalize project task lists.

• Professionally interface with customer stakeholders and external vendors.

• Maintain a focus on safety and educate relevant parties on the safe operation of hydrogen equipment and infrastructure.

• Share ideas for process improvement and cost-saving initiatives with the project team and management.

• Represent Plug Power with professionalism and perform additional assigned duties.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in construction, repair, or maintenance within an electrical, industrial, or mechanical field.

• An associate degree or vocational degree in engineering, electronics, pressurized systems, or another relevant field of study is preferred.

• Alternatively, in the absence of a degree, two additional years of experience in construction, repair, or maintenance in an electrical, industrial, or mechanical field are required.

• Willingness to travel as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities – up to 100%.

• Experience with industrial gas or high-pressure systems is highly preferred.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• High level of proficiency in mechanical systems installation, troubleshooting, and repair.

• Ability to diagnose system failures and pinpoint the root cause.

• Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software for reporting and email communications.

• Capability to read and interpret construction drawings and P&IDs.

• Ability to comprehend safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and technical specifications.

• Competence to operate independently with minimal supervision.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and fulfill project commitments/objectives without compromising workmanship or quality.

• Ability to safely operate and manage combustibles.

• Skills to diagnose system issues and troubleshoot effective solutions.

• Understanding of the environmental impact on equipment function and performance.
