H2 Commissioning Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Commission, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, test, and perform preventative maintenance on Plug Power products, including hydrogen storage infrastructure, electrolyzers, and stationary equipment, at customer sites.

• Execute and spearhead high-level service repair projects on existing hydrogen infrastructure, which includes liquid tank repairs and vacuum jacket line repairs.

• Provide training to first responders, customers, and Plug service personnel on troubleshooting, maintenance, and servicing of hydrogen infrastructure.

• Support the commissioning and ongoing maintenance and operation of industrial hydrogen infrastructure.

• Interpret electrical wiring schematics and conduct point-to-point functionality testing.

• Pressure-test piping systems according to ASME standards.

• Test and troubleshoot program issues with assistance from engineering.

• Inspect process piping systems, including pressure ratings and fittings.

• Document system testing and commissioning results upon project completion.

• Create, track, and close out project task lists.

• Communicate with cross-functional departments to enhance electrolyzer system designs and rectify defects using field experience and data.

• Interface professionally and effectively with customer stakeholders and external vendors.

• Maintain a safety-focused approach and educate relevant parties on the safe operation of hydrogen equipment and infrastructure.

• Share ideas for process improvements and cost savings with the project team and management.

• Represent Plug Power in a professional manner and carry out other assigned duties.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in construction, repair, or maintenance within an electrical, industrial, or mechanical field.

• An Associate's degree or vocational degree in engineering, electronics, pressurized systems, or another applicable field of study is preferred.

• Alternatively, in lieu of a degree, an additional two years of experience in construction, repair, or maintenance in an electrical, industrial, or mechanical field is acceptable.

• Willingness to travel as necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position – up to 100%.

• Experience with industrial gas or high-pressure systems is highly preferred.

• High level of expertise in mechanical systems installation, troubleshooting, and repair.

• Ability to diagnose system failures and identify root causes.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software for reporting and email correspondence.

• Capability to operate independently with minimal supervision.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and meet project commitments/objectives.

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and P&IDs.

• Competence in reading and interpreting safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and technical specifications.

• Skill in safely operating and controlling combustibles.

• Excellent mechanical aptitude.

• Familiarity with industrial hydrogen systems and their performance.

• Availability to be on-call and respond to urgent needs.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
