Group Rating Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Perform rating and underwriting tasks for employer groups.

• Conduct production rating for both self-funded and fully insured employer groups, which includes ASO, level-funded, and merit groups.

• Assist in the quality assurance process for production.

• Aid in the development and pricing of associations and AHPs.

• Provide training to Group Rating team members and Sales staff on rating policies, methodologies, and functionalities of systems.

• Complete and manage GRIT options, contracts, and associated documents for both enrolled and prospective groups.

• Prepare and present prospect quotes utilizing GRIT.

• Address Sales inquiries concerning rating methodologies and group pricing.

• Organize and maintain self-funded group contracts.

• Monitor prospects, contracts, concessions, and reporting elements.

• Collaborate with Sales and Underwriting to ensure accurate group pricing and respond to inquiries.

• Assist the Team Lead, Group Rating, with production rating, quality checks, contract facilitation, and reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in group rating, underwriting, or a related analytical role within the health insurance sector is required.

• Experience supporting sales or broker relationships in an underwriting or pricing function is preferred.

• Familiarity with self-funded and level-funded plans is preferred.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Detail-oriented, capable of performing quality checks and ensuring consistency in rating methodologies.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Ability to interpret and apply rating methodologies for both self-funded and fully insured groups.

• Proficient in managing contracts, documentation, and tracking reports.

• Strong organizational skills.

• Capacity to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) and underwriting systems.

• Knowledge of health insurance underwriting principles and regulatory requirements is preferred.

• Candidates must reside in Kansas or Missouri or agree to relocate as a condition of employment.
