Grants Program Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage awarded funds and accounts

• Offer budgeting, forecasting, and financial oversight services

• Evaluate expenditures for allowability, allocability, and reasonableness

• Convey grant terms and conditions to project teams, emphasizing compliance

• Navigate various research administration systems and provide support to faculty and staff

• Anticipate and proactively meet the needs of researchers

• Deliver outstanding customer service

• Handle high-stakes discussions concerning policy, compliance, and regulations

• Operate independently with minimal supervision while collaborating with the broader team

• Manage competing priorities and deadlines with strong organizational, time management, and communication skills

• Assist Notre Dame faculty, researchers, and research administrators throughout the research lifecycle

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required, or a comparable combination of education and relevant experience

• Over 3 years of professional work experience

• Proven ability to interpret and apply federal and non-federal regulations to sponsored projects

• Strong analytical skills and capability to understand and apply complex policies and regulations

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities

• Capacity to engage professionally with a diverse range of stakeholders

• Proficiency in research administration systems with the ability to guide others in their use

• Excellent organizational, time, and project management capabilities

• Ability to perform under pressure with assurance

• Capacity to mentor junior colleagues for senior-level positions

• Preferred for senior-level candidates: Over 3 years in higher education grants management

• Preferred for senior-level candidates: Strong knowledge of eRA systems, sponsor systems, compliance, and regulatory requirements

• Certified Research Administrator (CRA) credential is preferred

• Experience in mentoring or training junior staff is preferred

• Graduate-level coursework in financial accounting or related fields is preferred
