This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Provide assistance to the NHLBI Division of Extramural Research Activities, Office of Grants Management, in managing grant functions.
• Review, analyze, process, and coordinate actions and correspondence related to grants.
• Support both competing and non-competing grant applications, including correspondence, administrative analysis, and portfolio management.
• Assess and prioritize competing and non-competing grant applications.
• Establish work priorities, ensure necessary documentation is followed up on, and upload documents to official grant folders.
• Evaluate competing grant applications for funding barriers, foreign involvement, and concerns outlined in summary statements.
• Issue award notifications within designated timeframes.
• Conduct administrative analysis of budgets, human and animal subject codes, and regulatory issues.
• Facilitate communication and provide guidance on policies and procedures to grantees and Federal staff.
• Address inquiries received via letters, memos, phone calls, and emails.
• Draft clear and precise correspondence regarding administrative matters, including prior approvals.
• Collaborate with program staff and grantees on information needed prior to award issuance.
• Assist with OGM supplements and funding processes.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or a Green Card holder.
• Must be able to work W2.
• Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent specialized experience.
• At least eight (8) years of specialized experience in NIH grants management activities within the last three (3) years.
• Proficient in using the eRA IMPACII Grants Management Module.
• Ability to interpret and apply regulations, policies, and procedures related to complex grant issues.
