This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Perform research on foundation, NGO, and institutional grant opportunities that align with EHF programs.
• Create and sustain an active grants pipeline using Asana and Hubspot.
• Monitor deadlines, touchpoints, and follow-up activities.
• Investigate and pinpoint new grant opportunities that resonate with EHF’s mission, strategic goals, and timelines.
• Draft, revise, and submit grant proposals, concept notes, letters of inquiry, and related documentation.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders regarding program-specific quantitative and qualitative impact data, grant proposal requirements, and grant budget formulation.
• Maintain and oversee a grants pipeline and submission calendar that looks ahead 6 to 12 months.
• Assist in fulfilling reporting requirements for awarded grants and nurturing funder relationships.
• Deliver weekly updates on progress and outline clear next steps.
• Independently identify, prioritize, and advance 3 to 5 qualified prospects each month.
• Keep a repository of boilerplate text, budgets, attachments, and narratives.
• 3 to 5 years of successful grant writing experience with proven responsibility for grants, grant project budget development, creating funding pipelines, and communicating with prospective funders from initiation to completion.
• Strong skills in grant prospect research and familiarity with funding databases (e.g., Candid/Foundation Directory, GrantStation, Instrumentl, or similar).
• Knowledge of CRM and project management systems (Hubspot, Asana, or similar).
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities to convert programmatic work into clear, compelling narratives for funders.
• Self-motivated individual who excels in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and project management capabilities.
• Comfortable working with minimal supervision and suggesting improvements to systems, templates, and workflows.
• Proactive and resourceful, capable of anticipating needs and taking initiative.
• Experience in mission-driven or nonprofit organizations.
• Deep contextual understanding of Africa and strong alignment with the organization's mission and values.
• Submission of a resume, cover letter, and a brief writing sample for a successfully awarded grant proposal is required for application.
