Safety and Loss Prevention Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Perform intricate risk evaluations for insured properties and operations to guide underwriting choices.

• Recognize potential risk vulnerabilities and develop strategic recommendations to reduce identified risks.

• Analyze and interpret loss data to spot trends and create loss prevention programs tailored to specific client needs.

• Offer advanced technical support and conduct training sessions for clients regarding safety practices and compliance with regulations.

• Assess the effectiveness of loss control strategies and make strategic modifications to improve results.

• Possibly supervise performance and mentor team members.

• Engage in decisions related to talent acquisition, growth, and performance management for direct reports.

• Execute other tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management and Insurance, Safety Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Typically requires a minimum of 9 years of experience in loss control, risk management, or a related field within the property and casualty insurance sector.

• Completion of or ongoing progress toward a professional designation is preferred, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS), Certified Safety and Health Management (CSHMS), Associate Loss Control Management (ALCM), or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST).

• Proficient analytical, risk assessment, and problem-solving abilities.

• Extensive knowledge of company policies along with industry laws and regulations.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication capabilities.

• Results-driven consultative skills.

• Strong analytical skills with the capacity to utilize data to evaluate situations, pinpoint issues, and formulate effective solutions.
