This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Assist the Controller and Director of FP&A in managing the cost accounting framework within Deltek Costpoint.
• Oversee and reconcile indirect cost pools, which include fringe benefits, overhead, and general & administrative costs.
• Compute and match actual indirect rates with provisional and billing rates.
• Deliver analysis and data for the development of provisional billing rates and annual budget rates.
• Ensure consistent application of allocation bases.
• Manage the organization and department structures within Costpoint.
• Assess the effects of organizational or account structure changes on cost pools and rates.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of organizational and indirect rate structures.
• Implement FAR Part 31 cost principles and highlight proposed cost treatments.
• Identify and separate expressly unallowable costs according to FAR Part 31.205.
• Consistently apply Cost Accounting Standards and address any inconsistencies.
• Assist in drafting cost accounting policies and documentation for unallowable costs.
• Prepare and reconcile data for the annual Incurred Cost Submission using the DCAA ICE model.
• Facilitate DCAA and other incurred cost audits by compiling data and preparing schedules.
• Conduct data integrity reviews of labor, cost, and organizational information in Costpoint.
• Design and execute periodic data queries and checks.
• Prepare journal entries related to indirect cost pools, allocations, and rate adjustments.
• Aid in month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Support rate proposals, budget rates, and perform ad hoc cost analysis for contract pricing and proposals.
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance if necessary.
• A minimum of five years of experience in cost accounting within a government contracting environment.
• Practical experience with Deltek Costpoint, including the reconciliation of indirect cost pools and organization/department structures.
• Proven experience supporting an Incurred Cost Submission (ICE model), including schedule preparation and reconciliations.
• Familiarity with FAR Part 31 cost principles and relevant Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
• Experience in calculating and reconciling indirect rates with actual cost pools and provisional/billing rates.
• Strong analytical skills and capability in data validation.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, and capability to work closely with and report to the Controller.
• Experience in supporting a DCAA incurred cost audit or accounting system review is preferred.
• Familiarity with CAS Disclosure Statement content or maintenance is preferred.
• Previous experience in aerospace, defense, or federal government contracting is preferred.
