This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +5 more states.
• Deliver exceptional deep technical sales support for Red Hat Lightwell's go-to-market initiatives.
• Eliminate organizational, technical, and competitive obstacles to the adoption of Red Hat Lightwell.
• Communicate Red Hat’s value proposition to developers, build and platform engineers, application development leadership, and security and compliance teams.
• Engage in hands-on activities in customer build environments, conduct technical architecture walkthroughs, business-value discussions, workshops, and implement best practices for dependency management, artifact signing, attestation, and pipeline enforcement.
• Collaborate with the Lightwell business unit and engineering to test, document, and demonstrate features while communicating coverage gaps, ecosystem requests, and competitive insights.
• Work in tandem with Red Hat sales, Customer Success, Consulting Services, and partner teams.
• Act as Red Hat’s technical lead for trusted software supply chain initiatives.
• Collaborate with Account Solution Architects and Account Executives to promote Lightwell adoption in both new and existing accounts.
• Lead technical discussions for developers/build engineers, engineering leadership, and security/compliance teams.
• Advocate for Red Hat’s unique offerings in comparison to market alternatives.
• Position software supply chain solutions across the Red Hat portfolio.
• Configure customer builds to align with Lightwell repositories, execute builds, and troubleshoot alongside engineering teams.
• Facilitate in-depth technical sessions before and after sales, including proofs of concept, bake-offs, sprints, hackathons, and partner solutions.
• Identify and collaborate with customer stakeholders, championing their needs within customer teams.
• Provide guidance on artifact management, mirroring, pipeline integration, and environments that are disconnected or air-gapped.
• Engage in community outreach and customer advocacy through activities like conference speaking and blogging.
• Offer enablement and mentoring to the Red Hat Technical Sales community.
• Over 6 years of experience in software engineering, build/release engineering, platform engineering, DevSecOps, or technical sales, with direct responsibility for software that involves real dependency and upgrade obligations.
• Experience in the telecommunications sector is essential.
• Proven ability to work directly in a customer or production build environment.
• Proficient in at least two of Maven, pip, and npm, including knowledge of dependency resolution, transitive dependency behavior, lockfiles, and version constraint semantics.
• Solid understanding of enterprise build configuration, registry and repository settings, and public package registry proxying and mirroring.
• Practical experience with enterprise artifact repositories and internal mirrors.
• Capability to configure, execute, and troubleshoot builds together with customer engineers.
• Knowledge of build reproducibility, disconnected and air-gapped delivery, and multi-language codebases.
• Familiarity with SLSA build integrity levels and the practical requirements of Level 3.
• Understanding of SBOM formats and their lifecycle, including SPDX and CycloneDX.
• Experience in artifact signing and verification, including HSM-backed signing, attestation, and enforcement during build and admission.
• Knowledge of VEX and CSAF, as well as machine-readable exploitability data for vulnerability triage.
• Understanding of provenance, typosquatting, and dependency confusion threat models.
• Familiarity with upstream open source contribution practices and remediation workflows.
• Experience in delivering technical presentations and leading business value discussions.
• Established credibility with engineering audiences and the ability to engage in leadership or executive conversations, including public speaking.
• Capability to accurately represent product coverage and roadmap.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Previous experience in sales engineering, technical sales, or a related field is preferred.
• Professional software development experience in Java or Python ecosystems is advantageous.
• Experience managing CI/CD systems, artifact repositories, or internal developer platforms at an enterprise scale is preferred.
• DevSecOps experience is preferred.
• Experience in application security or product security is preferred.
• Ongoing participation in an upstream open source project is preferred.
• Foundational knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, OpenShift, and Ansible Automation Platform is preferred.
• Familiarity with compliance regimes relevant to key-account geographies is preferred.
