Global Supplier Quality Engineer – PCBA, Cables

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Oversee the qualification, development, and performance management of around 10–15 global EMS suppliers located in various regions worldwide.

• Ensure that suppliers meet qualification criteria and maintain compliance with necessary standards.

• Drive improvement initiatives in collaboration with the on-site Supplier team (Supplier Development).

• Utilize supplier quality management tools and systems for effective collaboration, reporting, monitoring, and management of quality, delivery, cost, and compliance metrics.

• Maintain uniformity in process and product controls for parts procured from different ABB Manufacturing Units/Local Sales Units.

• Resolve supply chain issues related to quality, delivery, non-compliant products, or project services.

• Encourage early involvement of suppliers in product development to leverage supplier innovation and enhance quality, delivery, cost, and risk management.

• Report directly to the Global Quality & Continuous Improvement Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electronic or electrical engineering (preferred).

• Over 10 years of experience in Quality Management roles within the EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) sector.

• Extensive knowledge of IPC Standards.

• Demonstrated experience in managing Quality across various functions and sites.

• Familiarity with RCA methodologies, CAPA processes, and KPI-driven performance management.

• Certifications in Green Belt or Black Belt.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

• Capacity to influence and align global teams across diverse cultures and organizational levels.

• Being an IPC-A-610/IPC-A-620 trainer is an added advantage.
