This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +5 more states.
• Deliver specialized technical sales support for Red Hat Lightwell's market strategies.
• Eliminate organizational, technical, and competitive hurdles to the adoption of Red Hat Lightwell.
• Communicate Red Hat's value proposition to developers, platform engineers, application development leaders, and security and compliance teams.
• Engage in hands-on activities within customer build environments, including technical architecture walkthroughs, business-value discussions, workshops, and best-practice implementations.
• Serve as Red Hat's technical lead for trusted software supply chain initiatives.
• Collaborate with Account Solution Architects and Account Executives to promote Lightwell adoption in both new and existing accounts.
• Lead technical discussions with developers/build engineers, engineering leadership, and security/compliance teams.
• Distinguish Red Hat's offerings from alternative solutions in the market.
• Position hardened container images, artifact signing, attestation, SBOM generation, pipeline policy enforcement, and runtime security within the Red Hat portfolio.
• Configure customer builds to resolve against Lightwell repositories, execute builds, and debug results with engineers.
• Facilitate pre- and post-sales technical deep dives, proofs of concept, bake-offs, sprints, hackathons, and partner solutions.
• Identify and engage with customer stakeholders, advocating within customer teams.
• Provide guidance on artifact management, mirroring, pipeline integration, disconnected environments, and air-gapped environments.
• Offer product feedback, ecosystem requests, coverage gaps, and competitive insights to Lightwell business and engineering teams.
• Collaborate with Red Hat sales, Customer Success, Consulting Services, and partner teams.
• Conduct community outreach and customer advocacy activities, including conference presentations and blog contributions.
• Provide enablement and mentoring to the Red Hat Technical Sales community.
• Over 6 years of experience in software engineering, build/release engineering, platform engineering, DevSecOps, or technical sales.
• Direct accountability for software with real dependency and upgrade responsibilities.
• Proven ability to work hands-on in a customer or production build setting.
• Proficient in at least two of Maven, pip, and npm, including dependency resolution, transitive dependency behavior, lockfiles, and version constraint semantics.
• Solid understanding of enterprise build configuration, registry and repository settings, and public package registry proxying and mirroring.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise artifact repositories and internal mirrors.
• Capability to configure, execute, and troubleshoot builds alongside engineers.
• Familiarity with build reproducibility, disconnected and air-gapped delivery, and multi-language codebases.
• Knowledge of SLSA build integrity levels and practical Level 3 requirements.
• Understanding of SBOM formats and lifecycle, including SPDX and CycloneDX.
• Knowledge of artifact signing and verification, HSM-backed signing, attestation, and build/admission enforcement.
• Familiarity with VEX and CSAF and machine-readable exploitability data.
• Understanding of provenance, typosquatting, and dependency confusion threat models.
• Knowledge of upstream open source contribution practices and remediation workflows.
• Experience in delivering technical presentations and leading business value discussions.
• Credibility with engineering audiences and capability to conduct leadership or executive dialogues, including public speaking.
• Ability to accurately represent product coverage and roadmap.
• Willingness to travel as necessary.
• Preferred: experience in sales engineering, technical sales, or similar roles, ideally in enterprise software, SaaS, or systems integration.
• Preferred: professional software development experience within Java or Python ecosystems.
• Preferred: ownership of CI/CD systems, artifact repositories, or internal developer platforms at an enterprise scale.
• Preferred: DevSecOps experience integrating security tools and policies into delivery pipelines.
• Preferred: experience in application or product security.
• Preferred: ongoing participation in an upstream open source project.
• Preferred: foundational knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, OpenShift, and Ansible Automation Platform.
• Preferred: familiarity with compliance frameworks and control automation.
