GL Accountant, EMEA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Execute comprehensive recording of financial transactions to produce precise and compliant financial statements.

• Conduct monthly and year-end closing processes and report findings to the global accounting team.

• Handle local statutory reporting and necessary filings.

• Collaborate with FP&A operations and sales teams for effective planning, forecasting, and control.

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities for both German and international entities.

• Accurately and promptly post manual journal entries and accruals.

• Execute intercompany reconciliations.

• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and carry out variance analyses.

• Generate local financial statements in accordance with German HGB standards.

• Transform and reconcile local ledgers to comply with US GAAP group reporting standards.

• Liaise with local tax advisors for VAT submissions and corporate tax documentation.

• Lead initiatives for continuous improvement aimed at reducing the closing cycle.

• Standardize and automate workflows utilizing ERP tools such as Netsuite, Tipalti, and Emburse.

• 3–5 years of professional experience in the accounting field.

• Strong grasp of accounting processes and practices.

• Comprehensive understanding of business processes and their interdependencies.

• Possess analytical and logical thinking abilities.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• High degree of commercial and cost consciousness.

• Proficiency in German at B2–C1 level is mandatory.

• Required strong business proficiency in English, both written and verbal.

• Must have the legal right to work in the country where the position is located.
