This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Strategically plan and implement a variety of engineering projects from the development of proposals to their successful completion.
• Manage and supervise projects to ensure they are delivered within the established timelines and budgetary constraints.
• Prepare and oversee Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) documentation.
• Create cost and schedule estimates for drilling activities and liaise with service providers.
• Offer consulting services in drilling engineering for exploratory drilling, solution-mining, geothermal wells, and disposal wells.
• Formulate comprehensive well designs and drilling plans.
• Develop drilling programs that encompass casing, tubulars, mud systems, cementing, and testing protocols.
• Oversee operational activities.
• Ensure adherence to safety and compliance regulations.
• Collaborate with RESPEC engineers and client teams on well designs and drilling initiatives.
• Provide support for energy and mineral extraction projects.
• A Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum, geological, or mining engineering.
• At least 15 years of experience in drilling engineering, covering casing design, drilling fluids, testing, and well design.
• A robust technical background in well design and the development and execution of drilling programs.
• Previous experience in AFE preparation, cost management, financial accountability, and procurement services.
• Strong client relationship skills and the ability to contribute to business development efforts.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in geothermal drilling program design, including casing design, drilling fluids, testing, and geothermal well design is preferred.
• Familiarity with well delivery processes.
• Experience in risk assessment and management.
• Knowledge in completions engineering and design would be advantageous.
• Proficiency in schedule generation, cost and schedule tracking, subcontractor management, and client relationship building.
• Possession of a professional license or the ability to obtain one.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
• Experience in EGS drilling is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, project management, and technical communication skills.
• Fluency in English is a must.
• Proven capability to apply engineering principles in practical scenarios.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, exercise sound judgment, and work independently.
• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Requires prolonged periods of sitting at a workstation or desk.
• Must be able to frequently stand, walk, climb, kneel, lift, and use hands repetitively while on site.
• Must utilize appropriate personal protective equipment based on job responsibilities.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
