This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct geotechnical investigations, field assessments, and site evaluations for power delivery and transmission projects.
• Create and review geotechnical reports, engineering calculations, recommendations, and design documentation.
• Assess subsurface conditions and offer recommendations for foundations of transmission structures and other civil infrastructure.
• Assist in the foundation design process, considering bearing capacity, settlement, lateral capacity, uplift, and other geotechnical factors.
• Collaborate with civil, structural, transmission, and construction teams to devise practical and executable foundation solutions.
• Analyze soil and laboratory testing results, interpreting geotechnical data for design purposes.
• Contribute geotechnical insights for project development, cost estimation, scheduling, and design decisions.
• Aid in constructability reviews and address challenges encountered in the field and during construction.
• Evaluate contractor submittals, respond to technical inquiries, and provide engineering support throughout the construction phase.
• Ensure that designs and recommendations are in compliance with relevant codes, standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Convey technical findings and recommendations to project teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Travel occasionally to project sites, client meetings, and for field investigations.
• Undertake additional duties that support project and departmental objectives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, preferably in utility, transmission, power delivery, or heavy civil infrastructure projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one is preferred.
• Experience in the design of transmission structure foundations is highly advantageous.
• Solid understanding of geotechnical engineering principles and foundation design processes.
• Proficient in evaluating subsurface conditions, soil properties, bearing capacity, settlement, uplift, and lateral loads.
• Familiar with geotechnical investigation methodologies, soil and laboratory testing, and field data interpretation.
• Knowledgeable about geotechnical and structural design codes and standards, including IBC, ASCE, ACI, and other relevant industry standards.
• Experience with geotechnical analysis and design software is preferred.
• Capable of preparing and reviewing technical reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and field locations as necessary.
• Remote workplace flexibility.
• Occasional travel to project sites, client meetings, and field investigations.
