Geospatial Front-End Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Design, enhance, and sustain front-end geospatial web applications utilizing Vanilla JavaScript architecture.

• Implement and tailor mapping functionalities using the ArcGIS JavaScript API 4.x.

• Collaborate with back-end developers, analysts, and GIS experts to integrate spatial data and services.

• Diagnose and optimize front-end performance, usability, and map rendering behaviors.

• Assist with MS SQL Server ETL processes, including comprehending existing data pipelines and modifying them as necessary.

• Employ ArcGIS Python tools (ArcPy or ArcGIS API for Python) for data loading, automation routines, and system administration workflows.

• Engage in code reviews, architectural discussions, and adhere to best-practice development processes.

• Create technical documentation for applications, workflows, and data processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field and over 4 years of professional experience.

• Proven experience in writing clean, modular, and well-structured JavaScript, including application design in Vanilla JavaScript without reliance on heavy frameworks.

• Practical experience in developing geospatial applications with ArcGIS JS API 4.x.

• Familiarity with SQL Server ETL workflows, with the capability to modify or maintain existing processes.

• Experience with ArcGIS Python (ArcPy or ArcGIS API for Python) for data preparation, loading, and administrative automation.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Proficiency with version control systems such as Git.

• Knowledge of REST-based geospatial services and enterprise GIS architectures.

• Understanding of contemporary web technologies including HTML5, CSS3, Webpack, and Node.js.
