Geospatial Data Engineer – Satellite Collection Pipelines

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.

📋 Description

• Integrate commercial imagery providers into the collection tool, which includes establishing request protocols, data formats, and delivery paths.

• Collect user requests related to map interfaces, understand their underlying needs, and implement necessary changes.

• Identify and resolve data-flow bottlenecks and technical issues within a live production setting.

• Collaborate with planners and analysts to translate operational needs into clear, actionable requirements.

• Maintain up-to-date tool documentation, covering status, known issues, collection metrics, and recommendations.

• Provide reports on tool performance, including availability, job success rates, changes from the previous period, and suggested actions.

• Take ownership of the satellite imagery collection tool, focusing on data integration, map interface, and pipelines.

• Work closely with a small technical team through video reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• A solid understanding of space-based intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, including current satellite capabilities and limitations.

• At least five years of experience in multi-mission planning utilizing orbit and sensor modeling.

• Practical experience in developing and operating satellite collection tools for national or multinational clients.

• Proficiency in GIS and web mapping libraries.

• Familiarity with the protocols for integrating multiple commercial imagery providers into a unified collection framework.

• Excellent command of both spoken and written English, as evidenced by recent work.

• Ability to work independently without supervision while also thriving in a team environment.

• Strong research and analytical skills coupled with a genuine enthusiasm for problem-solving.

• Experience with defense or military intelligence processes is advantageous, though not mandatory.
