Genomics and Cell Biology Specialist

📋 Description

• Lead research and engineering teams to address knowledge gaps and enhance AI model performance in areas such as molecular cloning, primer and CRISPR design, functional genomics, sequence analysis, and cell-based assays.

• Create complex, non-searchable biology tasks, benchmarks, and training datasets.

• Develop precise and well-organized solutions for construct design, protocol planning, and assay troubleshooting.

• Assess AI model outputs and provide step-by-step reasoning on biology-related tasks.

• Evaluate the biological feasibility of suggested protocols and computational workflows.

• Deliver clear and constructive written technical feedback.

• Formulate specifications, grading rubrics, and verification processes for biological data generated by external technical teams.

• Serve as the domain expert on data quality.

• Collaborate with other subject matter experts to guarantee consistency and accuracy in training datasets.

⛳️ Requirements

• PhD in molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, genomics, synthetic biology, biochemistry, or a closely related field.

• Recent hands-on experience (bench or computational) with PCR/qPCR, molecular cloning, CRISPR, cell-based assays, sequence analysis, or functional genomics.

• Extensive experience across various organisms, model systems, and techniques, rather than specializing in a single narrow method.

• Proficient in using scientific software and AI tools; no coding skills required.

• Ability to commit to at least 20 hours/week during weekdays.

• Excellent written communication and collaboration abilities.

• Capability to articulate complex technical decisions in a clear manner.

• Must not be an H1-B or STEM OPT candidate.

• Preferred: 1 to 3 years of post-PhD experience.

• Preferred: experience in evaluating AI models or agents, designing benchmarks, or creating grading rubrics.
