This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Service and repair commercial generators located on cell phone towers within the designated region.
• Maintain generators by diagnosing and resolving issues, as well as installing and replacing components or entire systems.
• Carry out maintenance and upgrades on equipment that is out of season.
• Execute performance checks and perform regular maintenance on generators.
• Interpret and adhere to blueprints and other design specifications for both installation and repair tasks.
• Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, along with other essential components.
• Test equipment to ensure proper functionality.
• Respond swiftly to power and generator alarms.
• Promptly answer assigned phone calls and emails.
• Conduct work safely in the presence of installation and maintenance hazards.
• Utilize safety equipment and follow safety practices diligently.
• Participate in designated safety and training meetings.
• Travel as necessary and be available for 24/7 on-call duty if required.
• A minimum of two years of experience in generator maintenance is preferred.
• At least one year of substantial work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance software, hardware, and processes.
• Comprehensive knowledge of generator installations, maintenance, and repairs.
• Familiarity with electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.
• Moderate proficiency in computer skills.
• Basic understanding of relevant FCC, FAA, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
• Capability to comply with OSHA Standards.
• Ability to lift over 50 pounds and perform physical activities such as stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and standing for extended durations.
• Competence in inspecting and troubleshooting equipment and alarms effectively, both visually and audibly.
• Willingness and capability to drive long distances and work during daytime, evening, or night shifts.
• Availability to work overtime, respond to emergency callouts, and work on weekends and holidays as needed.
• Capability to take on 24-hour on-call duty when assigned and spend extended periods away from home.
