
General Foreman – Civil

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.
• Develop teams, oversee progress, and ensure that projects adhere to timelines and financial constraints.
• Strategize project plans, including the procurement and receipt of materials, coordinating equipment availability, and communicating implementation strategies.
• Supervise trenching, concrete work, fence installation, soil management, grading, SWIP, and machinery operations.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage construction projects from inception to completion.
• Assist the Project Manager in developing critical path schedules for new sites.
• Maintain schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans for projects.
• Monitor progress, identify potential challenges, and take corrective actions as needed.
• Coordinate the delivery of materials, tools, and equipment in line with project plans.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with construction managers, project managers, clients, and subcontractors.
• Supervise and mentor crews and subcontractors.
• Assign tasks, offer technical support, and mediate conflicts.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback for professional growth.
• Review and approve daily time logs and reports from assigned Foremen and subcontractors.
• Create and manage two-week look-ahead and daily schedules.
• Implement quality-control measures and address any defects or instances of non-compliance.
• Uphold safety protocols, training, and regulations on-site.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience as a Foreman or Construction Manager in Civil.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and construction site operations.
• Must possess or be able to obtain certifications/licenses in OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, RF Awareness, Blood Borne Pathogens, and DOT Health Card.
• Capability to manage multiple projects, crews, job sites, and client relationships.
• Ability to concentrate on daily construction activities and foresee and plan upcoming tasks.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, schematics, and SOW.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn and utilize software provided by Premise.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management software.
• Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record during employment.
• Ability to drive for Premise.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% and work at various locations as business needs require.
• Experience in operating heavy machinery and in forming, pouring, and setting concrete.
• Preference for holding a valid CDL driver’s license.
• Professional certifications in construction management are a plus.
• Ability to stand, sit, walk, lift, squat, push, pull, climb stairs and ladders, hear, see, reach, grasp, and operate computers, telephones, power tools, vehicles, and equipment.
• Capability to occasionally lift over 50 lbs.
• Per diem may be available for employees who meet qualifications under the company's Travel and Per Diem Policy.
