General Adjuster – Property

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Manage substantial losses or claims regionally that exceed $10M.

• Tackle intricate adjustment issues related to damages and coverage.

• Provide assistance on even larger losses and oversee smaller, less complex National Accounts.

• Review claim forms and documentation to ascertain insurance coverage.

• Administer and reconcile complicated catastrophic property claims.

• Conduct interviews, telephone communications, or correspondence with claimants and witnesses.

• Consult police and hospital records as needed.

• Assess property damage to establish the extent of company liability.

• Estimate costs for repairs, replacements, or compensation.

• Compile findings reports and negotiate settlements with claimants.

• Recommend legal action by the legal department when negotiations for settlements fail.

• Attend litigation hearings as required.

• Adjust case reserves to account for anticipated costs.

• Prepare loss experience reports to assist in evaluating profitability and determining appropriate future rates.

• Collaborate with excess carriers to clarify coverages, excess insurance levels, and potential reimbursements.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is a must.

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

• The IIA-AIC designation must be obtained.

• A valid state adjuster license is required.

• At least eight (8) years of relevant experience or an equivalent mix of education and experience is necessary.

• Proficiency in large-loss property claims is essential.

• Strong skills in investigation and negotiation are required.

• Capability to manage multimillion-dollar exposures from initial investigation to final resolution.

• Availability during business hours in the Pacific Time Zone is essential.

• Ability to think clearly and conceptually.

• Excellent judgment, problem-solving, analytical skills, and discretion are vital.

• Capacity to manage work-related stress and juggle multiple priorities simultaneously.

• Ability to meet deadlines consistently.

• Proficient computer keyboarding skills.

• Willingness to travel as needed.

• Employment may depend on the successful completion of a job-related motor vehicle record check.
