General Accounting Specialist, US GAAP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Oversee and evaluate financial documentation

• Generate reports while ensuring compliance with company regulations and accounting standards

• Handle a significant volume of accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries

• Implement account reconciliation techniques and procedures

• Address and resolve escalated issues as necessary

• Respond to customer inquiries via email and phone in a courteous, professional, and timely manner

• Reconcile bank statements and detect discrepancies

• Prepare and sustain precise accounting reports and documentation

• Manage complex account reconciliations during month-end closing processes

• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal accounting controls

• Stay informed about company accounting policies and procedures

• Follow company policies and procedures

• Achieve or surpass performance targets for relevant KPIs

• Engage in training programs and continuous learning initiatives

• Collaborate with other departments as necessary

• Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional demeanor towards customers and colleagues

• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's degree in Accounting or a related discipline, or equivalent experience

• Minimum of 3 years in a general accounting position

• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

• Strong data entry and mathematical abilities

• Exceptional attention to detail and precision

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment

• Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP and month-end closing processes

• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) is an advantage
