This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including mortgage servicing and subservicing accounting tasks.
• Direct and supervise accounting functions to ensure accurate recording, reconciliation, reporting, and management of transactions.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, maintain the general ledger, conduct financial analysis and reporting, and handle revenue and asset accounting, as well as mortgage servicing accounting, loan-level accounting, investor and servicing-related financial activities, fee and advance accounting, and closing procedures.
• Evaluate financial reports, accounting statements, reconciliations, and servicing-related financial information.
• Offer technical accounting guidance and insights to leadership.
• Collaborate with servicing, treasury, finance, operations, compliance, and other key stakeholders.
• Select and oversee partnerships with external consultants, accounting firms, and service providers.
• Lead, direct, assess, and mentor accounting professionals.
• Establish accounting operational and financial objectives and standards.
• Manage accounting systems and procedures, implementing enhancements as necessary.
• Approve reconciliations of bank accounts.
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements.
• Supervise month-end reconciliations, closing, and reporting processes.
• Maintain financial security through internal controls and provide support during audits.
• Oversee teams responsible for operational outcomes and project success.
• Contribute to project assessments and approve project designs and cost estimates.
• Engage in departmental planning and operational decision-making.
• Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and make recommendations regarding hiring and compensation.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• 5-7 years of directly related experience is necessary.
• 3-5 years of proven experience in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Established success in building, leading, and maintaining effective working relationships at the Middle Management level.
• In-depth subject matter expertise.
• Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
• A successful history of designing, developing, and executing complex projects within the area of functional expertise.
• Capability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at the Management level across global functional groups and business units.
• Ability to influence perspectives and achieve acceptance in sensitive circumstances.
• Excellent communication skills to convey the function’s vision and set aligned objectives.
• Familiarity with competitive, financial, and industry trends.
• Proficiency in recruiting, retaining, and developing talent, holding employees accountable, leading change, managing conflict, and fostering collaboration.
• Skill in managing customer expectations and ensuring commitments are fulfilled.
• Ability to provide accurate information, deliver compelling presentations, listen attentively, and negotiate effectively.
