GCP Data Engineer – Senior

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Create automated data ingestion pipelines from various sources and systems into GCP, utilizing the Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold).

• Design and provide governed views in the Analytics layer of BigQuery.

• Ensure data integrity and quality for downstream utilization by multiple teams.

• Address production incidents promptly and with clear prioritization.

• Identify potential issues that may affect end customers and temporarily halt deliveries when needed.

• Collaborate with relevant teams to quickly resolve critical issues.

• Work in conjunction with software engineering teams and different business sectors.

• Make sure that solutions comply with the company’s architectural and security guidelines.

• Alternate between developing new solutions and supporting existing production systems in a Build & Run model.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of substantial hands-on experience with GCP, particularly in BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Cloud Composer (Airflow), and Dataplex.

• At least 3 years of experience in large-scale data architecture.

• Familiarity with the Medallion architecture and experience in data migrations or greenfield platform developments.

• Proven history of managing complex integrations or migrations in large-scale environments.

• Total of at least 6 years in data engineering.

• Advanced skills in SQL and Python for handling large datasets.

• Capability to quickly evaluate and prioritize production incidents that may impact end customers.

• A minimum of 2 years working in a Build & Run model and production support (Run).

• Senior-level experience with a technical leadership approach.

• Competence in leading the complete cutover process of a data environment.

• Excellent communication abilities with analysts, software engineers, and business stakeholders.

• Proficient in managing priorities and conflicting interests under pressure.

• Skill in translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

• Google Cloud certifications, experience with TeamMate, and familiarity with CI/CD and DataOps are advantageous.
