Game Mathematician/Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Slovakia, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Product Owners and Producers to develop, simulate, and refine game mathematics and mechanics.

• Write clean and maintainable Python code for various game modules, cheats, and foundational game models.

• Engage in the complete game development process, from initial concept to final release.

• Conduct simulation runs to ensure game performance aligns with desired outcomes and portfolio standards.

• Deliver competitive game mathematics analysis and keep track of top-performing games and industry trends.

• Rapidly prototype new game mechanics to validate concepts effectively.

• Work alongside QA, Front-End, and backend development teams, offering math specifications and support.

• Serve as a constructive sparring partner to enhance product quality continuously.

⛳️ Requirements

• A university degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• A minimum of 4 years of commercial experience as a game mathematician or in a comparable online gambling role.

• Proficient in Python coding with a focus on object-oriented programming.

• Extensive experience in Java or C#, with a readiness to transition quickly to Python.

• Familiarity with production code, beyond just internal analytical scripts.

• Strong grasp of unit testing and code coverage practices.

• Outstanding problem-solving abilities and math model troubleshooting skills.

• In-depth knowledge of and enthusiasm for the iGaming market, popular slot mechanics, and player behavior.

• Capability to communicate complex mathematical concepts clearly to team members without a math background.

• An open-minded, team-oriented attitude, along with the ability to handle stress.

• Experience with Git or other version control systems.

• Proficiency in English at an Upper-Intermediate or Advanced level (B2+), both written and spoken.

• Experience in developing client-server applications like Flask is advantageous.

• Experience working within cross-functional squads is beneficial.

• Strong mathematical intuition, creativity, and a drive for innovation are a plus.

• Self-organization and task prioritization skills are a plus.
