
Full-Time Virtual Medical Assistant / Patient Advocate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Deliver compassionate, personalized support to patients, addressing non-clinical inquiries, and assisting them in navigating their healthcare journey.
• Aid providers with non-clinical administrative responsibilities within the Care Center's electronic medical record system, including triaging, reassigning, and resolving patient communications.
• Explore intricate patient scenarios and collaborate with clinical, pharmacy, insurance, and operational teams.
• Liaise with pharmacies and insurance companies concerning non-clinical prescription requirements, benefits verification, and prior authorizations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to address patient needs, share expertise, and contribute to service, quality, and operational objectives.
• Identify recurring issues related to patients, providers, or workflows and offer feedback to enhance patient experience and operational efficiency.
• Engage in pilot programs and initiatives aimed at improving patient support, retention strategies, and operational effectiveness.
• Work alongside Registered Nurses and Practitioners as a non-clinically licensed member of the healthcare team.
• 1–2 years of experience in a patient-facing administrative, healthcare, customer service, or operations role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with the skill to convey complex information clearly and with empathy.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail, with a talent for investigating issues, identifying next steps, and ensuring follow-through to resolution.
• Outstanding time management and organizational skills, with the capacity to work independently and juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, asynchronous environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency and comfort in using various technological tools and platforms to research and resolve patient inquiries; prior experience with EHR systems is highly preferred.
• Comfort in working with internally-approved LLM-based messaging systems and critically assessing LLM-generated content for accuracy.
• Familiarity with using internally-approved AI tools and prompting AI systems.
• Comfort in working towards established service, productivity, and quality expectations and metrics.
• Experience with health insurance plans, benefits verification, and/or prior authorizations is preferred.
• Patient-facing Medical Assistant or other relevant healthcare experience is preferred.
• A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace and Slack.
• Flexibility and a proactive mindset to adapt in a rapidly evolving environment.
• Willingness to participate in a holiday work rotation.
• Availability for assigned 4x10 shifts, from 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM ET, as per business requirements.
• Must be a resident of the United States; 4x10 shifts are not available for candidates residing in California.
