Full Stack Web Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain both external and internal websites.

• Independently create website frameworks and content for collaborators, senior management, and administrative staff.

• Collaborate with UX Designers to craft front-end interfaces and UI interactions utilizing responsive design best practices.

• Work alongside the team lead to enhance user experience, code quality, and overall productivity.

• Manage Linux servers operating on RHEL.

• Configure and maintain open-source tools and software, including Apache, NGINX, MariaDB, SMTP, DNS, and SSH.

• Develop custom work-group applications tailored to client needs.

• Partner with clients, graphic designers, and editors to define and execute web projects.

• Provide customer contact and consultation for web specification requirements.

• Address technical issues and offer solutions related to institutional compatibility, support, and system needs.

• Contribute to team solutions and institutional system support.

• Document technical solutions, system configurations, and development processes.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Capacity to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance, necessitating U.S. citizenship.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

• Basic understanding of server architecture and troubleshooting, specifically with Linux or Apache.

• Knowledge of MySQL, HTML, CSS, Python, React, Angular, or JavaScript.

• Adequate experience with current technologies and practices involving software and applications such as Confluence, Docker, Git, or Jira.

• Relevant experience in designing, deploying, or managing solutions in Amazon Web Services (AWS).

• Familiarity with building sites and developing themes.

• Basic knowledge of current trends and best practices in web architecture and design, encompassing performance, accessibility, UI/UX design, prototyping, scalability, compliance, or usability.

• Relevant experience collaborating on projects and effectively communicating with diverse teams.

• Pre-employment drug test is mandatory for selected external candidates.

• Anticipated DOE Q clearance will require a federal background investigation.

• Knowledge of PHP is desired.

• Experience with MariaDB and MongoDB is desired.

• Experience in building sites, developing themes, and creating/modifying modules for CMS platforms such as Drupal, WordPress, and Liferay is desired.
