Full Stack Product Engineer – 100% Remote

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Grasp customer challenges prior to committing to solutions

• Assist in shaping priorities and determining what to develop

• Build across the entire stack as needed by the problem

• Deliver incrementally, assess outcomes, and refine approaches

• Implement AI throughout the engineering process

• Identify and resolve intricate issues within a large, established codebase

• Enhance Matomo's security, performance, scalability, reliability, and resilience

• Safeguard data integrity, accuracy, and trustworthiness

• Develop and enhance APIs and platform functionalities for plugins and integrations

• Advance capabilities related to consent, privacy, and responsible data collection

• Promote server-side tracking, data anonymization, and data health monitoring

• Improve analytics features, including goals, ecommerce reporting, and dashboards

• Streamline complex analytics workflows

• Develop Matomo's design system

• Collaborate asynchronously through effective written communication and documentation

⛳️ Requirements

• Capable of delivering software independently (intermediate) or functioning with a high level of autonomy (senior)

• Proven experience in addressing customer challenges and delivering product value

• Comfortable navigating and debugging complex interactions within unfamiliar, established codebases

• Proficient in working across frontend, backend, databases, APIs, product workflows, documentation, and customer input

• Familiarity with the exact technology stack is beneficial but not essential; the ability to learn, reason, deliver, and tackle significant problems is prioritized

• Regularly utilize AI tools or possess a strong desire to adopt them

• Take responsibility for product decisions, technical accuracy, security, privacy, maintainability, and customer impact

• Skilled in diagnosing complex or intermittent bugs

• Able to balance immediate customer demands with long-term platform sustainability

• Capable of clearly explaining technical and product trade-offs

• Effective collaboration across product, engineering, UX, data, and customer feedback

• Eligible to work in Germany, the UK, or Ireland
