Full Stack Java Engineer – Workforce Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, test, and sustain scalable backend services utilizing Java, Spring Boot, and best software engineering practices.

• Construct contemporary web applications using React, TypeScript, reusable components, responsive designs, and accessible interaction methods.

• Design and utilize REST APIs by adopting an API-first methodology.

• Ensure clear OpenAPI/Swagger contracts and robust error management.

• Contribute to the development of modular and maintainable solutions through microservices and object-oriented as well as event-driven design patterns.

• Apply Node.js for lightweight services, backend-for-frontend components, integrations, or development tools.

• Design and enhance PostgreSQL data models and queries with a focus on integrity, performance, and audit trails.

• Implement and manage integrations with both internal and external systems using REST APIs, webhooks, messaging, and various integration strategies.

• Containerize applications and assist in cloud-based deployment strategies, configuration management, and ensuring environment consistency.

• Develop and uphold Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines incorporating automated testing, quality gates, and repeatable deployment processes.

• Equip applications with structured logging, metrics, tracing, and actionable error reporting.

• Diagnose functional and production challenges while enhancing application performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.

• Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, DevOps, Architecture, and fellow engineers through design discussions, code assessments, planning, and ongoing enhancements.

• Transition features from detailed technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of full-stack software development experience, including contributions to production applications.

• Practical experience with Java and Spring technologies, particularly Spring Boot, REST services, persistence, security, and automated testing.

• Frontend development experience with Angular or React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, component-based design, state management, and contemporary testing methodologies.

• Familiarity with Node.js for lightweight services, integrations, build tools, or supporting components.

• Experience in developing REST APIs, microservices, and maintainable applications in distributed settings.

• Strong SQL capabilities and experience in designing efficient data models in PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.

• Experience in developing, deploying, or supporting cloud-based and containerized applications.

• Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to create clear technical documentation and engage in client-facing workshops.

• Knowledge of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, and secure API design practices.

• Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging and event-streaming technologies.

• Experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, observability tools, and secure software delivery practices.

• Background in Workforce Management (WFM), Customer Experience (CX), contact center, or customer service solutions is a plus.

• Experience with AWS, Amazon Connect, FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, Twilio, or similar communication technologies.

• Understanding of workforce optimization and contact center operations, including forecasting, scheduling, routing, and adherence.

• Experience integrating enterprise applications with CRM, HR, identity, payroll, and analytics platforms.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
