Full Stack Java Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services utilizing Java, Spring Boot, and established software engineering methodologies.

• Create modern web applications using React, TypeScript, reusable components, responsive layouts, and accessible interaction patterns.

• Develop and consume REST APIs with an API-first approach.

• Maintain clear OpenAPI/Swagger contracts and ensure effective error handling.

• Contribute to modular, maintainable solutions using microservices along with object-oriented and event-driven design patterns.

• Utilize Node.js for lightweight services, backend-for-frontend components, integrations, or development tools where suitable.

• Design and optimize PostgreSQL data models and queries with a focus on integrity, performance, and audit history.

• Implement and support integrations with both internal and external systems using REST APIs, webhooks, messaging, and other integration strategies.

• Containerize applications and engage in cloud-based deployment practices, configuration management, and ensuring environment consistency.

• Build and maintain Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, quality gates, and repeatable deployment processes.

• Instrument applications with structured logging, metrics, tracing, and actionable error reporting.

• Troubleshoot functional and production issues while enhancing application performance, resilience, scalability, and maintainability.

• Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, DevOps, Architecture, and fellow engineers during design sessions, code reviews, planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of full-stack software development experience, with contributions to production applications.

• Hands-on experience with Java and Spring technologies, particularly Spring Boot, REST services, persistence, security, and automated testing.

• Frontend development experience using Angular or React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, component-based design, state management, and modern testing practices.

• Familiarity with Node.js for lightweight services, integrations, build tools, or supporting components.

• Experience in developing REST APIs, microservices, and maintainable applications within distributed environments.

• Strong SQL skills and a background in designing efficient data models in PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.

• Experience in developing, deploying, or supporting cloud-based and containerized applications.

• Excellent communication skills, including the capacity to produce clear technical documentation and engage in client-facing workshops.

• Knowledge of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, and secure API design principles.

• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging and event-streaming technologies.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, observability tools, and secure software delivery practices.

• Experience in Workforce Management (WFM), Customer Experience (CX), contact center, or customer service solutions is a plus.

• Experience with AWS, Amazon Connect, FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, Twilio, or similar communication technologies is advantageous.

• Understanding of workforce optimization and contact center operations, including forecasting, scheduling, routing, and adherence is desirable.

• Experience integrating enterprise applications with CRM, HR, identity, payroll, and analytics platforms is beneficial.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude is desirable.
