Full Stack Java Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Design, create, test, and uphold scalable backend services utilizing Java, Spring Boot, and proven software engineering methodologies.

• Develop contemporary web applications with React, TypeScript, reusable components, responsive designs, and accessible interaction patterns.

• Create and utilize REST APIs following an API-first strategy; ensure clear OpenAPI/Swagger contracts and effective error handling.

• Contribute to the development of modular and maintainable solutions using microservices along with object-oriented and event-driven design patterns.

• Employ Node.js for lightweight services, backend-for-frontend components, integrations, or development tools.

• Assist in the design and optimization of PostgreSQL data models and queries while focusing on integrity, performance, and audit history.

• Implement and support integrations with both internal and external systems utilizing REST APIs, webhooks, messaging, and various integration patterns.

• Containerize applications and aid in cloud-based deployment strategies, configuration management, and ensuring environment consistency.

• Construct and manage Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines incorporating automated testing, quality gates, and repeatable deployments.

• Equip applications with structured logging, metrics, tracing, and actionable error reporting.

• Diagnose functional and production challenges while enhancing application performance, resilience, scalability, and maintainability.

• Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, DevOps, Architecture, and fellow engineers through design discussions, code reviews, planning, and ongoing improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of full-stack software development experience, including contributions to production applications.

• Practical experience with Java and Spring technologies, particularly Spring Boot, REST services, persistence, security, and automated testing.

• Frontend development proficiency with Angular or React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, component-based design, state management, and modern testing practices.

• Familiarity with Node.js for lightweight services, integrations, build tooling, or supporting components.

• Experience in developing REST APIs, microservices, and maintainable applications in distributed environments.

• Strong SQL capabilities and experience in designing efficient data models in PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.

• Experience in developing, deploying, or supporting cloud-based and containerized applications.

• Excellent communication abilities, including the production of clear technical documentation and participation in client-facing workshops.

• Knowledge of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, and secure API design principles.

• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging and event-streaming technologies.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, observability tools, and secure software delivery practices.

• Experience with Workforce Management (WFM), Customer Experience (CX), contact center, or customer service solutions is a plus.

• Familiarity with AWS, Amazon Connect, FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, Twilio, or similar communication technologies is a plus.

• Understanding of workforce optimization and contact center operations, including forecasting, scheduling, routing, and adherence is a plus.

• Experience in integrating enterprise applications with CRM, HR, identity, payroll, and analytics platforms is a plus.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude is a plus.
